April 24, 2007 Selectmen's Meeting Minutes

Present: Palmer Koelb, Randy Morrison, John Millican, and Janet Woolner

Also Present: Ellie Murray, Francis Muzzey, Randy Whitcher, Deb Koelb, Mike Wright, Randy Comsteller, Chip Stata, Julia Pease, Katie and Russell Blodgett, and Patrolman Don Jones

 

Palmer moved to open the meeting a 6:10 pm. This was seconded by John and approved.

Bobby provided an update on the small truck repairs amounting to approximately $1,500 and the turbo is warranted. He updated Selectmen on the road cleanup. Bobby asked if he could have Warren Davis work for the rest of the week which Selectmen authorized.

Randy Whitcher asked Selectmen if the Town of Warren could rent Bobby Cass and the Grader for a few days to do the clean up in their town. Warren will pay Bobby (he’ll work on his days off) directly and for the gasoline. Bobby asked if we could swap the grader for use of their broom to sweep. Selectmen agreed to help and authorized the use and requested Bobby to keep track of the time.

Patrolman Jones advised of the Bicycle tour traveling through the town on August 10, 2007. He said Local and State Police will be available to assist.

Selectmen postponed the signing of the septic design for Menfi until the sub-division is finally approved by the Planning Board Per 2.5, page 4 of the Planning Board regulations.

Selectmen agreed not to post the out of town golf tournament on the web site.

Selectmen signed a letter to Steve Davis and Stephen Hilbrunner, and Intent to Cut for Morrison M/L 11-05-09A.

Mary Davis advised that Linda Brown will be out May 16th through May 24th and she will cover some of the hours and will post the following on the web site:

Selectmen approved a veteran’s tax credit for Hogan M/L 01-03-04 and denied a veteran’s tax credit request from Bilodeau M/L 12-05-03.

Selectmen appointed Ellie Murray as Cemetery Trustee for the remainder of the one year term.

Palmer moved to accept the minutes and the non-public minutes for April 10, 2007. This was seconded by Randy and approved by John.

Palmer moved to go into non-public session at 7:15 pm per RSA 91-A:3,II (c) to discuss matters, if discussed in public, would likely affect adversely the reputation of a person. This was seconded by John and approved by Randy. Palmer moved to come out of non-public session at 7:53 pm. This was seconded by Randy and approved by John. Selectmen discussed the status of an existing tax deferral lien.

Selectmen reviewed abatement applications for Comsteller and Fowler. Selectmen denied Fowler M/L 08-06-01 and Comsteller M/L 05-01-23 and 05-03-03 abatement requests because both assessments reflect fair market value.

John moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:25 pm. This was seconded by Palmer and approved.
