Local Regulations
Dog Owners

All dogs four (4) months or older must be licensed in NH and licenses expire on April 30. You will need to renew your dog's license annually by this date, or penalties and fines will be issued. The penalty is $1.00 per month beginning in June.

  • Dog owners shall register all dogs over four (4) months of age by April 30.
  • Rabies certificates and spay/neuter certificate is required for registration.
  • Penalty for not obtaining a dog license is a fine of $25.00 (RSA: 466:13).
  • Owners are liable for dogs running at large.

Fire Permits

Anyone living in the Town must get a fire permit to burn anything outside and can do so (under certain conditions only) with a fire permit. Fire permits can be obtained from any of the following forest rangers:

Overnight Parking

It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle on either side of any street or Municipal Parking lot in the Town of Wentworth between the hours of 12:00 Midnight and 6:00 AM, between November 1 and May 1 of any year.

Snow Removal

No person shall park any vehicle on a public way or sidewalk within the Town of Wentworth in such a way as to hinder the removal of snow from the streets of Wentworth by the Town of Wentworth or the State of New Hampshire

Vehicle Owners
  • Vehicle owners  must register their vehicles with Town Clerk.
  • To re-register, owners should bring in their old registrations.
  • Proof of residency is required for new registrations.
  • Renewals, stickers, transfers and plates now available.
Wetlands and Waterways

Those operating in or near wetland or waterways shall file a Dredge and Fill Application with the Town Clerk before beginning work. Under RSA: 483-A fines can be assessed for non-compliance.
